AAVE price holds above $291 amid optimism from MetaMask partnership
AAVE forms cup structure under resistance at $298 as MetaMask partnership drives bullish potential

AAVE is currently trading near $291.56 after a short-term pullback from its recent high of $306. The price broke down from a rising wedge on the 45-minute chart but has since formed a rounded base between $284 and $293, suggesting the early stages of a cup formation.

Highlights

 - AAVE forms rounded base near $291 after wedge breakdown, creating early cup pattern

 - EMAs between $291 and $298 form layered resistance with 200 EMA at $298.46 as key breakout trigger

 - $948K net outflow on July 29 shows mild selling, but price remains supported above $284

If this structure confirms with a breakout above $298, it could mark a return to bullish momentum. However, price is currently capped under a dense EMA cluster between $291 and $298, with the 200 EMA at $298.46 acting as the key level to reclaim. The short-term trend remains uncertain as AAVE consolidates below major moving averages.

The cup formation suggests a possible reversal, but confirmation depends on price breaking the 200 EMA at $298.46 with volume. Until then, the setup remains neutral, with support near $284 and resistance at $298. The RSI has climbed above 49, signaling improving momentum, but has yet to cross into a clearly bullish zone.

All major EMAs, 20, 50, 100, and 200, are tightly stacked overhead. This compression often precedes a directional move, and reclaiming the upper range would confirm the cup breakout and open the door toward $305 to $312. Failure to break above may invite renewed selling and a return to the lower support band.

Spot flows and MetaMask deal shape broader sentiment

On-chain netflows flipped negative on July 29, with a $948 thousand outflow indicating some degree of profit-taking. Despite the outflow, price action has remained resilient near $292, suggesting that the move was not driven by panic selling. The flow structure currently reflects a cautious, neutral tone, rather than strong accumulation or distribution.

The fundamental backdrop has strengthened with the announcement of Aave’s integration into MetaMask’s Stablecoin Earn feature. This allows MetaMask users to earn stablecoin yield directly through Aave’s infrastructure, expanding its reach across more than 100 million wallets. The collaboration could increase Aave’s borrow demand, deepen protocol liquidity, and broaden user access beyond crypto-native participants. Aave’s role in the MetaMask Card launch also adds utility to its protocol, allowing users to spend yield-bearing assets like aUSDC in real-world scenarios. These developments position Aave as a bridge between DeFi and traditional finance, reinforcing long-term protocol value.

As covered in earlier analysis, AAVE has shown structural resilience near the $284 zone, and recent bullish catalysts could drive a breakout if supported by volume and positive flows. A confirmed move above $298 would shift the short-term outlook back in favor of buyers.
