Top Bitcoin enthusiast and MicroStrategy’s CEO Michael Saylor announced the integration of the Bitcoin Lightning Network into his corporate email address. It is the first publicly-traded company to make such a move.

Several users have sent Saylor an estimated 21 Satoshis to test the efficacy of the new feature. 

In an April 18 tweet, the known Bitcoin supporter shared a screenshot of 36 transactions of users trying to send him some cryptocurrencies after announcing his conventional corporate email address conversion to a Lighting Address protocol.

How does this work? This simply means that anyone can use Saylor’s “saylor@microstrategy.com” email to send over some Bitcoin to the leader, CoinDesk reports.

The Bitcoin Lightning Network is a layer-2 solution that solves scalability issues on the main network. The second layer serves as a micropayment channel that conducts more efficient transactions. 

With MicroStrategy, the recent integration means another party who wish to transact with Michael Saylor will together set up a multi-signature wallet holding a certain amount of Bitcoin. 

The wallet address is saved to the blockchain and creates a bi-directional payment channel where both parties involved can facilitate BTC payments using the channel seamlessly. Transactions are unlimited, fast, and cost-saving. 

Saylor’s recent move hints of MSTR’s plans to integrate Bitcoin further into its operations. The company currently holds 140,000 BTC in its balance sheets amounting to more than $4 billion in current prices. 

With the average price of Bitcoin dwindling at $30,000.00, MicroStrategy remains down 1.3% from its initial investment. 

MSTR stock price closed its April 17 session with a 6.21% decline to $313.03. It fell further by 0.045% in the after-hours trading and is set to open the new trading day with a starting price of $312.89.
