Tokenized settlement drive bolsters euro’s digital credentials amid pressure
The European Central Bank (ECB) has launched Pontes, a new platform designed to facilitate settlements of tokenized assets using central bank money, according to 112. This infrastructure development introduces a direct central bank mechanism for tokenized wholesale transactions, potentially increasing the euro's utility in digital markets and supporting institutional settlement activity. Separately, the ECB’s plan to allocate a portion of its €23 billion reserve assets into euro-denominated tokenized government and institutional securities, as reported by Inkl, highlights an ongoing shift toward digitized financial instruments within the euro area, though price action has remained under broader selling pressure.
Bearish momentum deepens as technical indicators signal oversold conditions

The Ichimoku Kijun on the daily chart stands at EGP59.2471, serving as immediate resistance. Momentum indicators display bearish signals: MACD registers a strong sell, while ADX also tilts bearish. Downside risk dominates as rebound odds remain minimal
In the near term, EUR/EGP is forecast to remain within the EGP58.4248 to EGP59.012 range over the next two to three trading sessions, reflecting typical volatility around current levels. The probability of a rebound is very low, while downside risk remains pronounced; sideways consolidation inside the stated band is most likely. A break above EGP59.2471 would be required to trigger a bullish move, whereas a fall below EGP58.4248 would open the way to further losses.
Earlier, analysts noted that EUR/EGP had entered a bearish technical structure with sellers maintaining control and mixed momentum signals. The current article reinforces this view, emphasizing continued downside risk and suggesting that traders monitor EGP58.4248 as a critical support level for potential further declines.
