Highlights

  • EUR/EGP is trading below short- and long-term moving averages, indicating a downside bias despite lingering medium-term support.
  • Momentum indicators show strong oversold signals and weak trend strength, with mixed intraday direction and low conviction.
  • Expected 5-day trading range is EGP58.123 to EGP59.6978, with probability weighted toward a decrease and resistance at EGP59.005.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, highlights persistent downside pressure and technical uncertainty for EUR/EGP. He notes the pair is struggling below both the 20- and 200-day moving averages, facing strong resistance with only weak support from the 50-day line. Kharitonov observes that oversold momentum has not inspired sustained buying, and major trend indicators remain mixed or negative. The absence of material news removes any immediate catalyst for reversal or breakout. "Short-lived upticks are likely to be sold into, and traders should avoid chasing upside while structural weaknesses persist," he cautions.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees opportunity in the current oversold conditions on EUR/EGP. He believes recent support above EGP58.7907 offers an attractive entry for bulls, especially as technical indicators, such as a strong MACD signal, point to potential upside. While news flows are muted, Karapetjanc views this as a chance for market stabilization before the next move. "The bullish structure remains intact despite short-term noise, and I expect further growth if the pair breaks above EGP59.005," he states confidently.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, remains wary of EUR/EGP’s outlook. He notes the pair is trapped under key resistance and finds limited support from broader market sentiment. With no fresh macro drivers and weak bullish commitment, Dele questions the sustainability of any short-term bounce. "Without a clear catalyst or trend shift, downside risks outweigh rewards here," he concludes.

Medium-term support holds as short- and long-term bias stay bearish

EUR/EGP is trading below both the 20-day (EGP59.4235) and 200-day (EGP59.3357) moving averages, but remains above the 50-day moving average (EGP58.7907). This structure points to medium-term support but an overall downside bias in the short- and long-term trends. The near-term resistance sits at EGP59.005 according to the Ichimoku Kijun, while immediate support holds at EGP58.7907. Momentum indicators are mixed: the MACD offers a strong buy signal, but ADX stays neutral and muted. Both the RSI and CCI are deeply oversold, echoed by a Stochastic RSI at zero, which highlights oversold conditions. Bull/Bear Power is negative with intraday momentum favoring sellers, marked as oversold as well. The Awesome Oscillator remains neutral, signaling a lack of clear trend direction. Volatility amplitude stands at 1.08%, and price action is near today’s intraday high, suggesting short-term strength even as underlying momentum diverges.

Earlier, analysts noted that EUR/EGP was locked in a rangebound pattern with downside risks prevailing amid mixed technical signals. The current analysis adds that despite near-term buying interest, the broader trend remains pressured, making EGP59.005 a pivotal resistance level to watch for signs of a sustained move.
