As reported by the U.S. Department of State, Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau hosts a Swiss delegation led by Federal Department of Foreign Affairs State Secretary Alexandre Fasel for the fourth U.S.-Switzerland Strategic Partnership Dialogue in Washington, D.C.The joint statement says the dialogue builds on longstanding cultural and economic ties between the two countries to advance bilateral cooperation across multiple priorities. Both sides note growing bilateral investment and highlight extensive collaboration in science, technology and innovation, while also discussing cooperation on AI to support shared and trusted ecosystems intended to strengthen prosperity in both countries.
Security cooperation remains a core pillar
The United States and Switzerland also focus on joint efforts to promote peace and security, including in Europe and the Western Hemisphere. The statement adds that both sides express support for an enduring diplomatic resolution to restore peace in the Middle East.The United States also expresses appreciation for Switzerland's decades-long role in supporting American citizens in Iran through the Swiss Protecting Power. According to the joint statement, this year's dialogue reflects a deep and enduring partnership and advances shared goals around security, peace and mutual prosperity.
