Intel stock slides toward critical support zone
Intel shares remain under pressure as sentiment across the semiconductor sector continues to deteriorate and profit-taking accelerates.
Investor sentiment across the semiconductor industry has weakened noticeably since the beginning of the week. Following the market's sharp reaction to IBM's preliminary results and the continued weakness in Intel shares, investors have become increasingly willing to lock in profits ahead of the technology sector's earnings season.
Additional pressure came from the broader AI sector after TSMC's earnings report. Despite posting strong financial results, investors chose to reduce exposure to many of the technology stocks that had rallied the most.
Against this backdrop, Intel remains particularly sensitive to any signs of weakening expectations. Ahead of the company's July 23 earnings report, investors are likely to remain cautious, increasing the probability of elevated volatility and further profit-taking.

Intel tests critical support at $98–102
Buyers once again failed to push Intel shares back above the $110 level, triggering renewed selling pressure and accelerating the decline toward the $98–102 liquidity zone. This range has now become the key support area for the stock's short-term outlook.
If sellers manage to establish the price below $98, the probability of further downside will increase significantly. In that scenario, the next major support level is located around $79.50, more than 20% below current prices.
Conversely, if buyers manage to defend the $98–102 range, the stock could begin to stabilize. A recovery above $105 would significantly improve the probability of a retest of the next resistance level.
Intel faces a volatile earnings season
Intel shares are likely to remain highly volatile over the coming weeks. With the earnings season now underway, disciplined risk and money management will be particularly important for both short- and medium-term traders.
