As reported by Canada.ca, Justice Minister and Attorney General Sean Fraser, who is also responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, is joining members of Halifax's business community to discuss opportunities for the region's economy after the release of the Atlantic Economic Panel's report, "Bolder Ambitions: Greater Prosperity for All." The session is being hosted by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce and is centered on how the panel's proposals can be turned into concrete economic action.

Joyce Carter, a member of the Atlantic Economic Panel, is also taking part in the discussion. The event is set to examine measures intended to strengthen productivity, attract investment, reduce interprovincial barriers and support long-term economic growth across Atlantic Canada.

Regional business and policy focus

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m., with the presentation scheduled to start at about 1:40 p.m. The event runs from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Our earlier report on Canada’s clean energy investment in New Brunswick outlined a nearly $270 million funding package aimed at boosting energy security, affordability, and industrial competitiveness. It detailed support for rehabilitating NB Power’s Mactaquac hydroelectric station and upgrading grid stability at the Salisbury Terminal to help integrate more renewable power as electricity demand rises.
