Billion Dollar Boy acquires Creator Authority as B2B creator marketing gains traction
B2B creator marketing expands

Influencer marketing groups are expanding beyond consumer campaigns as brands test creator-led advertising for business audiences. Billion Dollar Boy Group says its purchase of B2B specialist Creator Authority is an all-cash, multimillion-dollar deal with an earnout and supports a forecast for more than $100 million in 2027 revenue.

Highlights

  • Billion Dollar Boy Group completes its first acquisition by buying Creator Authority for a multimillion-dollar all-cash deal with an earnout component, following 24% global revenue growth this year.
  • The deal gives BDB Group official LinkedIn Marketing Partner access, adds major clients like Amazon, Adobe and Mastercard, and will double Creator Authority's headcount to 30–40 staff.
  • Creator economy M&A surged to 70 deals in H1 2026, up 23% year-over-year, with B2B creator marketing adoption led by architecture (33%), manufacturing (24%) and retail (23%) sectors.

B2B creator push drives first acquisition

As reported by Business Insider, citing CMO Insider, Billion Dollar Boy Group has acquired B2B influencer marketing agency Creator Authority in an all-cash transaction valued in the multimillion-dollar range, with an earnout component. The companies do not disclose fuller financial terms, but BDB Group says the deal is its first acquisition and follows 24% global revenue growth over the past 12 months.

Creator Authority connects brands with content creators and provides contract, licensing and campaign management services. Founder Brendan Gahan is taking the role of senior vice president of B2B at Billion Dollar Boy, while the buyer says the unit's staff is set to expand from about 15 people to between 30 and 40, with some existing BDB employees shifting to support the team.

The transaction also gives BDB Group access to Creator Authority's status as an official LinkedIn Marketing Partner and adds clients including Amazon, Adobe and Mastercard. The companies say Creator Authority's footprint is expanding to New York and London from its existing bases in Los Angeles and Austin.

Deal activity signals wider industry shift

Acquisition activity in the creator economy is accelerating, with 70 M&A transactions in the first half of 2026, up 23% year over year, according to advisory firm Quartermast Advisors. The firm says agencies account for 21.4% of those deals and advised Creator Authority on the sale.

Recent transactions include Accenture Song's acquisition of Whalar in July, Publicis Groupe's purchase of France-based Point d'Orgue in August and SAMY's takeover of Atlanta agency Get Engaged last month. BDB Group's move suggests agencies built in consumer marketing are now targeting B2B creator services as a separate growth lane.

A September survey commissioned by BDB Group and conducted by Censuswide of more than 1,000 marketing decision-makers in the U.S. and UK found that 20% say they invest in B2B creator marketing in 2026. Architecture, engineering and building leads adoption at 33%, followed by manufacturing and utilities at 24%, and retail, catering and leisure at 23%.

Platform support is also increasing. LinkedIn introduces a creator marketplace this summer to help advertisers find creators by sector and audience, expands its BrandLink revenue-sharing program for video ads, and last year launches original video shows from business-focused creators.

Our earlier coverage of BNP Paribas strengthening its UK M&A advisory business showed how a rebound in UK dealmaking is pushing banks to compete harder for senior talent and mandates. The bank hired two veteran dealmakers to deepen coverage across sponsor-led and corporate transactions, underscoring the broader pickup in transaction activity despite a still uneven macro backdrop.
