Energy firms reduce green investment

Energy companies have reduced their investment in green initiatives for the first time in a decade, according to Andrew Follett. Funding for green projects dropped to $25.7 billion in 2024, down from over $38 billion.

Follett also highlighted that in 2024, only 10 percent of these companies' capital expenditure went into green energy, and this figure fell further to just 6.5 percent in 2025.

Follett has previously focused on currency movements in his reporting. He highlighted the Iranian Rial's 13,019 percent drop against the U.S. dollar. He also noted the euro's significant decline against the U.S. dollar since the start of the conflict.
