SpaceX weighs $60 billion Cursor deal

SpaceX has a $60 billion option to acquire Cursor, according to Aadit Sheth. The potential transaction appears to focus on Cursor's distribution capabilities rather than its AI models, as Sheth points out that Cursor's top-performing models are still Claude and GPT. Despite launching its own model, Composer, in November, Cursor has not matched competitors in code quality. Sheth indicates that SpaceX's interest is driven primarily by Cursor's reach and user access, rather than technological superiority.

Sheth has previously analyzed user-driven revenue models across platforms. In an earlier report, he noted that U.S. users, though just 14 percent of X's base, drive over half of the platform's revenue. He highlighted ongoing market concentration risk associated with this reliance.
