Christine Lagarde: ECB and RBI sign central banking cooperation MoU in Basel — ECB and RBI sign cooperation MoU

Christine Lagarde, president at European Central Bank, met with Reserve Bank of India Governor Malhotra in Basel to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in central banking.

The agreement aims to support further collaboration between the two central banks.

Lagarde recently held an informal dinner with Governing Council members and Maria Luís Albuquerque at the ECB to discuss Europe’s economy, according to a previous meeting summary. She is also scheduled to discuss stablecoins and the future of money at the LatAm Economic Forum, as noted in a separate announcement. The new agreement with the Reserve Bank of India continues a pattern of expanding international engagement by the ECB president.
