Pushpendra Singh: Freebie politics weakens India state finances as rupee slides
Freebie politics impacts India rupee value

Pushpendra Singh, crypto educator and blockchain enthusiast, warns that freebie politics is damaging India’s economy. According to Singh, schemes such as “Ladli Behna” may help win elections but are straining state finances.

Singh notes the Indian rupee has fallen over 10% against the currencies of Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka since Jan 2025.

Singh has recently commented on global central bank leadership, noting that new U.S. Fed chair Kevin Warsh reportedly supports Bitcoin and the CLARITY Act, which could boost crypto adoption, in a recent report. He also reported that Binance founder CZ sees a possible break in the four-year crypto cycle and a potential Bitcoin supercycle starting in 2026, according to another previous article. Singh’s remarks come as he continues to track major developments in global finance and digital assets.
