Live streaming platform Kick is introducing significant changes to its content discovery system.
According to a tweet by Bijan Tehrani, the company is testing a new ''For You'' discovery feature for one week before shifting the default platform sorting to an algorithm-based model, moving away from the current system that promotes streams based on viewer numbers. Kick will also reduce the visibility of streams that display signs of inorganic activity, with further adjustments planned. These changes are aimed at creating a more level playing field for content creators and enhancing user experience on the platform.
Tehrani has previously discussed efforts to develop creator-focused solutions at other platforms, including a new initiative at Club targeting users with large X communities. He has also addressed ongoing user skepticism concerning fairness on Stake gaming platforms. These topics have contributed to continued scrutiny of platform policies and user experiences in the digital creator space.
