Global retail valuations drop outside U.S.

Dede Eyesan reports that retail companies outside the U.S. specializing in groceries and staples have experienced a significant contraction in valuation multiples year-to-date.

Japan's Kobe Bussan and Genky Drugstores have both seen declines of more than 30 percent, while Indonesia's Alfamart and Midi are down by 30 to 40 percent. In South Africa, Clicks, another major retailer, is also affected.
