U.S. headline CPI to drop to 3.9% in June, Daniel Lacalle expects
June CPI projected to fall to 3.9%

Daniel Lacalle, chief economist and investment manager at Tressis Gestion, highlights that Bloomberg Economics forecasts headline CPI for June will fall by 0.07%, compared with a 0.47% increase previously.

The year-over-year change is projected to reach 3.9%, with a significant 9.2% decline in gasoline prices anticipated to drive the drop, making May the peak for inflation this year.

Lacalle has previously noted that the U.S. dollar index climbed above 100 as global demand for U.S. assets reached a record high. He has also argued that public spending is a key driver of inflation, while central banks tend to focus on sovereign debt. Both comments come as the latest CPI projections point to easing price pressures.
