Frame transactions get ERC-8286 upgrade

Pedro Gomes announces that Frame transactions have received a significant user experience upgrade. The update leverages ERC-8286, which enables smart accounts using ERC-7579 modules to be compatible with EIP-8141.

According to Gomes, this development is expected to drastically reduce the upgrade path for many existing smart wallets.

Earlier this year, WalletConnect partnered with Base and Optimism to launch native account abstraction using EIP-8130, according to a prior announcement from Gomes. In a separate update, he noted that WalletConnect Pay was accepted at 94° cafe in Lisbon for free coffee during the launch week when customers paid with the service. Both efforts focused on expanding smart wallet functionality and payment options.
