Layah Heilpern: Coldcard incident raises concerns about Bitcoin wallet risks

Layah Heilpern, owner and host of The Layah Heilpern Show, highlights the importance of decentralising Bitcoin assets following a recent coldcard disaster.

She recommends not storing all savings in a single wallet and emphasizes that self-custody remains the safest choice. Heilpern also suggests that more research is needed into the security of wallet companies, advising users to spread their cryptocurrency holdings for enhanced protection.

Heilpern recently disclosed the loss of her entire bitcoin portfolio on a coldcard mk3 device in an earlier report. Previously, she observed Bitcoin's rebound from a 652-day low and advised investors against frequent strategy changes in a separate market update. These past incidents provide context to her caution on asset security and self-custody.
