U.S. payrolls outperform in August

Susan Li points to stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs data, with nonfarm payrolls increasing by 162000 in August. The consensus estimate was for a gain of 53000 jobs.

The U.S. unemployment rate stood at 4.1 percent, in line with expectations.
