U.S. student loan support center launched

Scott Bessent, 79th U.S. Secretary of the Treasury; founder of Key Square Group; former hedge fund manager at U.S. Department of the Treasury; Key Square Group, states that under the current U.S. administration, the U.S. Treasury and Department of Education are working together to restore fiscal responsibility to the country’s $1.7 trillion federal student loan portfolio.

A new Defaulted Loans Support Center has been introduced as part of the Treasury-ED Federal Student Assistance Partnership, marking an early achievement in addressing student loan management.

Bessent recently reported that the U.S. Treasury and IRS issued guidance aimed at curbing tax-driven investment strategies. He has also highlighted the creation of over one million private-sector jobs since January 2025. These developments reflect ongoing efforts by federal agencies to address fiscal management and economic growth.
