Gary Black: U.S. stocks drop as Brent crude surges and yields climb
Brent crude jumps as U.S. stocks slide

Gary Black, managing partner and investor at The Future Fund, reports that U.S. stocks declined Thursday as Brent crude spiked 4 percent to $104 following news that the White House asked the Pentagon for Iran strike options prior to the midterms.

The 10-year yield rose to 5.33 percent. Profit results from Samsung and TSMC, including a nearly ninefold surge for Samsung and a 51 percent sales increase for TSMC, were met with muted market reactions.

Gary Black has previously highlighted AVGO's position as having the lowest 2026 PEG ratio among Mag 8 stocks, contrasted with TSLA as the most expensive in the group (see article). In a separate note, he reported Uber shares rising after the CEO acquired $10 million in stock, citing potential from self-driving advancements (see article). These observations contribute to his ongoing coverage of market-moving corporate events.
