TSLA shifts to less profitable cars in Q3-2026, Gordon Johnson notes
TSLA Q3 deliveries rise, U.S. falls

TSLA reported a 1.4 percent increase in third-quarter deliveries, according to figures shared by Gordon Johnson, CEO and analyst at GLJ Research.

Johnson estimates TSLA deliveries declined 9.2 percent quarter-on-quarter in the U.S. but grew 17.8 percent in China. He also commented that TSLA traded its most profitable cars for its least profitable ones in the third quarter of 2026, describing this development as negative.

Earlier this year, Gordon Johnson noted that TSLA raised its borrowing limit to $30 billion as cash flow turned negative and capital expenditures surpassed $25 billion in guidance, according to a previous article. Johnson has also commented on broader macroeconomic trends, including the Federal Reserve's rapid $5 trillion balance sheet expansion over two years, as reported in another article. These developments provide context for TSLA’s latest delivery figures.
