Gordon Johnson: Questioning value of U.S. Treasuries as AI credit offers higher returns
AI credit outpaces U.S. Treasuries returns

Gordon Johnson, CEO / Analyst at GLJ Research, questions the value of holding U.S. Treasuries when AI-linked credit can yield double the returns and is perceived as being backstopped by the Federal Reserve.

Johnson points out that borrowers indifferent to the cost of money are influencing market prices, leading to higher mortgage rates for homebuyers and workforce cuts at small businesses.

Johnson has tracked key developments in major sectors in recent months. He flagged missing details about Cybercabs and the impact of a new U.S. probe as Tesla shares fell 6 percent following an anticipated event in recent coverage. In another note, Johnson highlighted that August PPI headline rose 0.4% month over month after a revision to July data, with the year-over-year figure at 5.5% after the July base revision.
