Scott Melker: Electrum wallet users report BTC thefts via malicious servers spoofing recipient addresses
Malicious Electrum servers steal user BTC

Users of the Bitcoin wallet Electrum are losing BTC due to malicious servers replacing real recipient addresses with look-alike addresses.

Scott Melker reported that these servers can suppress a user's original transaction and display forged information, risking BTC loss.

Scott Melker has previously covered developments on the XRP Ledger. He reported the delay of an XRP Ledger lending code fix after validator support fell below the required threshold, as described here. Melker also noted the launch of a tokenized share class for Aviva Investors’ £22 billion sterling fund on the XRP Ledger, according to this report.
