Adyen falls below €950: Is a rebound toward €1,000 about to begin?
Holding €940 could support a rebound toward €1,000

The bearish setup for Adyen fully played out, with the shares falling toward the €950 target. Conditions for a short-term rebound are now beginning to emerge near the 50-day SMA, although buyers still need to confirm a reversal.

Adyen told Reuters that it plans to expand its business in India and continue hiring as it targets the rapidly growing digital payments and cross-border commerce market. The company’s workforce in India has increased tenfold since 2023, reaching 120 employees in the first half of 2026.

On September 10, Adyen also joined Airwallex, Azupay and the Digital Economy Council in calling for broader access to Australia’s New Payments Platform. The companies urged the RBA to lower barriers to NPP participation and strengthen competition in account-to-account payments.

50-day SMA becomes the key level for a rebound

The bearish setup highlighted earlier played out. After support at €1,017 gave way, the decline extended toward the target area around €950.

The probability of a short-term rebound is now increasing, but confirmation requires three conditions: the shares need to remain above the 50-day SMA near €940, while today’s session should close with a doji candle on elevated trading volume.

If those conditions are met, the recovery target would shift toward the €990–1,000 liquidity zone.

A sustained move below the 50-day SMA, however, would keep sellers in control and bring the next support around €920 into focus.

Strong fundamentals still need technical confirmation

Adyen’s expansion in India reinforces the company’s long-term growth strategy despite the sharp decline in its shares. So far, however, the positive fundamental developments have not been enough to halt the short-term selling pressure.

The next several sessions will therefore depend largely on price action around €940–950. Holding this zone could give buyers room to push the shares back toward €990–1,000, while losing the 50-day SMA would preserve the bearish structure and open the way toward €920.
