Adyen shares test €880 as oversold conditions raise rebound potential
After an extended slide, Adyen is approaching a zone where sellers may find it increasingly difficult to maintain the same pace. The market now has to show whether enough demand is waiting at these levels to produce at least a short-term reversal.
Geopolitical risks, high energy prices and tightening financial conditions continue to be the more immediate headwinds. These continue to take a toll on European risk assets, especially richly valued stocks, and are prompting a risk-off tone towards fintech names even when companies themselves are unperturbed.
In the meantime, Adyen is also expanding its deployment of AI in payments and fraud prevention. Its Middle East bosses said that further expansion of AI in travel payments – for instance fraud, currency optimisation and deeper personalised payment experiences.

€880 becomes the key support after the selloff
Adyen shares have weakened significantly since the previous analysis, breaking below the 50-day SMA and remaining firmly in a short-term downtrend.
For today’s session, €880 is the level to watch. A clear break below it could accelerate the decline by another roughly 7–9%, bringing the €840–810 area into focus.
The RSI (14), however, is already close to oversold territory. That makes a hold of €880 followed by an attempt to recover toward the 50-day SMA near €950 the more likely base-case scenario for now.
Before that rebound can develop, the stock first needs to stop deteriorating and begin stabilizing around current levels.
Adyen needs confirmation before the trend can improve
Adyen's recent fundamental backdrop doesn't seem weak enough by itself to justify the slide to date. Meanwhile, a new catalyst that could induce a convincing reversal simply isn't in sight.
An oversold RSI condition can be enough to generate a short term bounce, but it doesn't necessarily indicate that the larger picture has come to an end. To indicate more significant progress, the buyers must drive the shares back into the confines of the 50-day SMA and demonstrate demand above the initial rebound.
