Oimex shares surge on news

Trading in Oimex Electrode attracts strong investor interest on the Dhaka Stock Exchange after the company recommends a cash dividend for the year ended 30 June 2026. The move comes as the manufacturer reports a sharp recovery in earnings and an improvement in net asset value from a year earlier.

Highlights

  • Oimex Electrode shares close 11.94% higher at Tk15 on 3 November after a 2% cash dividend recommendation for FY26 general shareholders.
  • Earnings per share rise to Tk0.38 for the fiscal year ended 30 June 2026 from Tk0.03 in FY25, driven by higher operating income and lower raw material costs.
  • Net asset value per share increases to Tk3.65 as of 30 June 2026, while the AGM is scheduled for 27 December and record date set as 29 November.

Dividend decision lifts trading and sets key dates

The Business Standard reports that Oimex Electrode closes 11.94% higher, or Tk1.6 up, at Tk15 on 3 November, making it the top gainer on the Dhaka Stock Exchange after its board recommends a 2% cash dividend for general shareholders for FY26.

The recommendation excludes sponsors and directors. The company says there is no price limit or circuit breaker on trading in its shares on the day following the corporate declaration, while its annual general meeting is scheduled for 27 December and 29 November has been fixed as the record date.

Earnings recovery supports the payout outlook

For the fiscal year ended 30 June 2026, the manufacturer reports earnings per share of Tk0.38, up from Tk0.03 in FY25. The company attributes the profit expansion mainly to higher operating income and lower raw material costs.

Net asset value per share rises to Tk3.65 as of 30 June 2026 from Tk3.27 a year earlier. Oimex Electrode remains in the Z category because it fails to hold its AGM within the stipulated timeframe for FY25, when it declares no dividend.
