Mike Krieger is a Brazilian-American software engineer and technology entrepreneur best known as the co-founder of Instagram and his subsequent work in artificial intelligence. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1986, he moved to the United States to study at Stanford University, where he earned degrees in symbolic systems and human-computer interaction.

In 2010, Krieger co-founded Instagram with Kevin Systrom and served as its Chief Technology Officer. He helped build the platform's engineering infrastructure and scale the service to more than one billion users. Following Instagram's acquisition by Facebook in 2012, Krieger continued to oversee its technology development until leaving the company in 2018.

Krieger subsequently co-founded Artifact, a personalized news application that was acquired by Yahoo in 2024. In May of that year, he joined Anthropic as Chief Product Officer, overseeing product engineering, management, and design for its artificial intelligence products, including Claude.
