FairMarkets Pros & Cons

  • This broker's pool comprises 47 currency pairs and several dozen CFDs from different groups.
  • Low entry barrier - most accounts have a low entry barrier starting at no minimum deposit, and the Demo account is free.
  • The four real accounts offer different trading styles and methods.
  • Trading costs are minimal because of narrow spreads and trading commissions attached only to one of the four accounts.
  • High-profit potential is possible because this broker does not impose restrictions and allows trading with significant leverage.
  • Additional earnings opportunities are presented via a standard referral program and an IB partnership for corporate clients.
  • Client support operates 24/5, and the managers are proficient in 9 languages.
  • This broker does not provide typical passive income options, such as joint accounts and copy trading.
  • Client support is available even at night but only on weekdays, with no assistance on weekends.
  • In some aspects, this broker lacks transparency; for instance, commission data for withdrawals is unavailable on their website.

TU Expert Verdict

Chief Analytics Officer

FairMarkets demonstrates moderate stability and can suit certain traders. Its conditions are acceptable, and feedback is mixed but reasonable. In my own tests, it performed adequately, though it lacks the consistency of higher-rated companies.

I tried trading with FairMarkets for a few months. Honestly, I didn't like trading here. Although the broker claims to be licensed by the Australian regulator, the trading conditions are not impressive. For a STANDARD account, the spreads are supposed to start from 0 points. However, in reality, FairMarkets provides spreads on major currency pairs of around 5-6 points. This is quite high, and most importantly, it doesn't align with the information on their website.

I couldn't generate profits on Fairmarkets' platform. I tried trading on an account with standard conditions, hoping for good returns. However, it turns out that the trading terminals at Fairmarkets are a nightmare. Limit orders can be executed with slippage of 25 points or more, and this happens consistently. My profit might be 30 points, but due to such slippage, I end up with losses.

Having worked at fairmarkets for almost six months, I can say that I was dissatisfied with our work. I tried two of their accounts, STANDARD FIXED and STANDARD VARIABLE, but nothing was right. At first the conditions were acceptable and spread was quite ok, but then everything turned bad, when spread began to widen greatly due to volatility. The execution also deteriorated. It takes a long time to withdraw profits now. Indeed, they have never had instant withdrawals, but the money always came within a couple of days. For the last months they have been delaying it for weeks. In general, I will leave.

FairMarkets has a safety score of 8.5/10, described as a high security level, and is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), which is a Tier-1 regulator with stringent consumer protection standards. The broker offers negative balance protection and requires KYC verification, but it has a relatively short track record, having been founded in 2020, and the presence of a specific investor compensation fund is not indicated in this section.

What types of trading accounts are available at FairMarkets and how do they differ?

According to this section, FairMarkets offers Demo, Standard, ECN/Raw spread, and several named real accounts: STANDARD, Aussie Premium, and Pro Account, each with different spreads, minimum deposits, and instrument ranges. Based on available user reviews, FairMarkets has a user satisfaction score of 3.5/10 from four reviews, with 75% of ratings at 2 stars and 25% at 1 star. This distribution means the overall tone of user feedback in this section is mostly negative.

How do FairMarkets deposit and withdrawal options and limits work?

FairMarkets supports deposits and withdrawals via bank cards and bank wire transfers, with no deposit fees and a minimum deposit of $0 and minimum withdrawal of $1, though these limits may vary by account type and payment method. The broker does not support PayPal, Wise, or BTC, and the section notes that deposit and withdrawal flexibility is limited, which may lead to higher costs compared with more varied payment setups.

What customer support channels does FairMarkets offer and when are they available?

FairMarkets provides customer support 24/5 via call center phone numbers, email, live chat on the website and in the user account, and a ticket system on a dedicated support page. The section notes that response speed and service quality can vary, managers are not available on weekends, and the broker is not present on social media, so updates and information are obtained through its website and support channels.
