DoorDash announces gas relief for drivers

DoorDash is introducing new emergency relief measures to support its drivers in the U.S. facing growing fuel expenses due to rising gas prices.

Tony Xu announced that DoorDash will provide 10% cash back on gas, which is five times its usual rate, as well as weekly payments of up to $15 for drivers who complete the highest number of deliveries. According to Xu, the relief may amount to $1.40 to $1.90 per gallon for its most active U.S. drivers. The initiative seeks to ease the financial burden on gig economy workers amid inflation and record gas prices.
