XTB review: Stock options launch expands investment app capabilities
XTB, one of the largest CFD brokers on the market, has taken a significant step toward broadening its product offering with the launch of stock options trading.
- Chosen by 3 200+ local traders in the last 3 months.
- Traders earn on average 12% more per month vs other brokers.
The new instrument has debuted in Cyprus, marking the first market where XTB clients can trade call and put options on shares of leading global companies.
Cyprus chosen as testing ground for options rollout
The newly introduced product allows investors to purchase call and put options on shares of the 100 most popular U.S.-listed companies. Cyprus was selected as the initial launch market, with the offering regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). According to XTB, starting in a single jurisdiction enables the company to test functionality, refine the solution, and prepare for expansion into other markets, subject to regulatory approval.
At this stage, XTB’s options are vanilla, American-style contracts, meaning they can be exercised at any time before expiration. Importantly, they are fully cash-settled, allowing investors to realize gains or losses without purchasing the underlying shares. In the near future, XTB plans to expand the product to include options on popular European stocks, further diversifying its investment toolkit.
Supporting advanced strategies and risk management
XTB said the addition of options reflects growing demand from more experienced investors seeking instruments that support advanced strategies and risk management. While options are often viewed as complex, they have long been popular among U.S. investors, and their adoption is now accelerating across Europe.
The company has reported strong growth in both new and active clients in recent years, setting internal records. Against this backdrop, expanding the product range is seen as essential to maintaining momentum and reinforcing XTB’s ambition to become a universal investment app for individuals looking to manage and grow their capital more effectively.
Beyond options, XTB offers access to shares, ETFs, CFDs, and other financial instruments through its mobile-first investment app, combining usability with regulated market access. The introduction of stock options adds flexibility for clients seeking diversified approaches beyond traditional long-only investing.
As the Cyprus rollout progresses, XTB plans further enhancements and geographic expansion, positioning options as a core component of its evolving investment ecosystem.
