Interactive Brokers enhances Heatmap and data display features
Interactive Brokers has introduced updated analytical tools on its IBKR Desktop platform, including an expanded Heatmap for analyzing market trends and new options for more precise data display on the user interface. New Heatmap and data display features
According to FNG, one of the key updates is the expanded Heatmap, accessible through the "Site Map" menu in the IBKR Desktop interface. This feature allows users to visualize the performance indicators of a wide range of financial instruments—ranging from stocks to ETFs and other assets—providing a comprehensive view of real-time market trends. The Heatmap enables an intuitive comparison of various assets' results, making it easier to identify market trends.
Additionally, Interactive Brokers has introduced the Last Size Extra Decimal feature, which displays fractional values for the last trade sizes of U.S. stocks and warrants. Users can choose the number of extra decimal places in the interface settings, making the data more precise and useful for analyzing current market activity.
How to use the updated features
To access the Heatmap, traders need to navigate to the "Site Map" icon at the top of the screen and select the "Heatmap" option. Then, in the "Contents" menu, they can choose the relevant ETF funds or other asset categories.
To activate the Last Size Extra Decimal feature, users should go to Global Configuration or the appropriate interface section, select the Last Size Extra Decimal option, and set the desired number of decimal places. This allows for more detailed information about trade sizes, which is especially useful for high-frequency traders and algorithmic strategies.
