LiteFinance to replace Maker with Sky token in September 2025
LiteFinance adds SKY after Maker rebrand

LiteFinance, a well-known broker in the forex and cryptocurrency markets, has announced upcoming changes to its digital asset lineup as part of a major token rebranding initiative. These changes will affect trading in the Maker (MKR/USD) instrument and introduce the project’s new asset — Sky (SKY/USD).

According to the broker’s update, starting from September 8, 2025, the MKR/USD instrument will be switched to “close only” mode, allowing traders to finalize open positions but preventing the opening of new ones. On September 15, 2025, at 06:00 GMT+3 server time, all remaining open positions in MKR/USD will be automatically closed and pending orders canceled. Two days later, on September 17, LiteFinance will launch trading for the SKY/USD pair at 11:30 server time.

Reason for the transition

The changes are tied to the strategic rebranding of the Maker ecosystem. Developers announced that Maker (MKR) will be replaced by Sky (SKY) as the primary token in order to make participation in the project more accessible and user-friendly. The conversion ratio has been set at 1:24,000, meaning that holders of one MKR token will receive 24,000 SKY tokens. This move is intended to broaden adoption by lowering the entry barrier for retail investors and reflects the ongoing evolution of the project.

LiteFinance emphasized that the ticker change is a direct result of this transition and will allow clients to continue accessing the updated asset without disruption.

What Traders should expect

The broker advised clients to carefully monitor their positions ahead of the key dates. The automatic closure of trades on September 15 will ensure an orderly transition, while the two-day gap before SKY trading begins will give time to prepare for the new market conditions.

By supporting the rebranded asset, LiteFinance continues its strategy of responding swiftly to market innovations and providing traders with access to emerging digital opportunities. The launch of SKY/USD is expected to attract interest from both long-time Maker supporters and new investors drawn by the lower entry price.
