LiteFinance review: Broker halts trading amid major CME Globex outage
LiteFinance reported a temporary suspension of trading on CME Globex after a major technical outage at the exchange disrupted real-time market data across a wide range of instruments. According to the company, the interruption originated from a cooling system failure at CyrusOne data centers in Chicago — facilities that host key infrastructure for the CME Group’s futures and options markets.

The cooling malfunction affected several liquidity providers’ ability to deliver quotes, leaving traders unable to access real-time pricing for numerous assets. Instruments impacted include Russell 2000 (RUT), Natural Gas (XNG), Corn, Wheat, Soybean, Nikkei 225, Nasdaq 100 (NQ, NQ100), S&P 500 (SPX, SP500), Dow Jones (YM, US30), WTI Crude Oil (USCRUDE), Platinum (XPT), and Palladium (XPD). LiteFinance stated that all operations on these products are suspended until CME resolves the issue.
Operational impact on traders and market stability
The outage underscores how heavily brokers and traders rely on CME Globex — one of the world’s most important electronic derivatives trading platforms — for continuous access to liquidity and pricing. For LiteFinance clients, the suspension means they cannot place orders or receive updated quotes across major equity indices, commodities, and metals.
The broker emphasized that the disruption is beyond its control and stems entirely from the CME Group’s infrastructure issue. While CME and CyrusOne teams are working to restore full functionality, no official time for resumption has been announced. Once systems are restored, trading and quote streams for all affected instruments will resume immediately.
For active traders, particularly those using futures for hedging or short-term strategies, the halt introduces temporary risk exposure and limited ability to respond to market movements. LiteFinance noted that clients may contact support for further clarification as the situation evolves.
