IonQ has entered a strategic alliance with Nvidia and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) to build a national quantum-high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure for South Korea.

Announced during Nvidia’s GTC event, the collaboration aims to establish foundational technology and AI models designed to accelerate quantum computing advancements worldwide. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) signals increasing global momentum for integrating quantum and AI capabilities, as South Korea positions itself at the forefront of next-generation computing.

IonQ’s latest collaboration underscores the accelerating convergence of quantum research and national policy initiatives, reflecting trends previously seen when the company asserted its position within the emergent bipartisan U.S. quantum technology commission. Similar ambitions to solidify global leadership in quantum innovation have been explored through partnerships such as IonQ’s joint launch of the Quantum Innovation Centre with the University of Cambridge, further illustrating the company’s recurring strategy of advancing commercial and technological frontiers through cross-sector alliances.
