Accuray has introduced a novel strategy for prostate cancer treatment, unveiling the PRO-FAST protocol at ESTRO26 in Milan. The approach utilizes single-day, single-fraction radiotherapy for prostate cancer patients, delivered through the CyberKnife system.
Dr. Fodor and Dr. Broggi from the IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute shared clinical insights on the PRO-FAST method, which aims to significantly reduce the treatment timeline for eligible patients. The initiative underscores the growing trend towards patient-centric, accelerated cancer therapies leveraging advanced radiotherapy technologies.
Accuray has previously highlighted new pediatric radiotherapy developments at ESTRO26 through its Radixact platform, as presented by Dr Liam Herbert at the conference. The company also presented on the integration of AI in radiotherapy, focusing on clinical performance and ethical considerations during an ESTRO session. These efforts form part of Accuray’s continued emphasis on advanced radiotherapy solutions at international forums.
