SoundThinking’s technology has been used by law enforcement agencies to provide real-time alerts on gunfire incidents. In Niterói, authorities used the system to accelerate homicide investigation responses, according to a recent report. Police have also applied ShotSpotter alerts to improve rapid response to gunfire in other jurisdictions, SoundThinking said in a separate update.
