Brookfield: Brookfield Infrastructure stock edges higher to 41.57 as CEO outlines AI investment approach
Brookfield Infrastructure up 0.75% today

Brookfield Infrastructure CEO Connor Teskey addressed the company's approach to investing in the AI buildout on The Knowledge Project podcast with Shane Parrish.

Teskey stated that investors who understand the AI infrastructure market can build enduring projects and businesses. He indicated that investing in real assets with long-term potential is key.

Highlights

  • BIPC shows short- and medium-term bullish momentum but remains capped by long-term resistance, reflecting consolidation near $41.57.
  • Immediate support rests near $40.25, with upside limited by resistance around $43.25, defining a narrow trading corridor.
  • Technical indicators reflect weak trend strength and overbought short-term sentiment, with a higher probability of downside in the coming week.

Short-term bullish momentum as resistance caps long-term upside

BIPC is trading at $41.57, which sits above both the MA-20 ($40.66) and MA-50 ($40.23) but below the MA-200 ($43.62). This suggests short- and medium-term bullish momentum remains in place, while the long-term trend faces overhead pressure. The Ichimoku Kijun level on D1 stands at $38.50, which is below the current price and therefore acts as immediate support. Near-term support levels are clustered around MA-20 ($40.66), with key support seen at MA-50 ($40.23). Immediate resistance is defined by MA-100 ($43.61) and MA-200 ($43.62).

Mixed momentum signals as weekly price consolidates within range

Momentum signals are mixed: MACD points to a modest upside bias on D1, but ADX remains neutral at 14.58, suggesting trend strength is limited. RSI on D1 is in neutral-bullish territory at 52.75, while Stoch RSI and CCI also imply neutral momentum with no clear overbought or oversold conditions. However, BBP on D1 is classified as overbought (0.62), indicating buyers currently dominate short-term flows. AO remains neutral and does not strengthen the current trend. Over the past week, BIPC is trading near the midpoint of its weekly range, edging up slightly from a previous close of $41.53 for a marginal 0.19% loss, with weekly volatility at 3.93%. The weekly tone reflects consolidation after fluctuation between $40.75 and $42.35, with the price moving steadily within this corridor.

Downside favored as few indicators support bullish reversal

Looking ahead, the expected price range for the coming week is $40.25 to $43.25, which remains well within 20% of the current price and sits above the 52-week low of $34.18 but below the 52-week high of $51.72. Short-term probabilities favor a move lower, as only one out of four key W1 indicators (RSI, ADX, MACD, MA-50) signals a possible upside, resulting in a very low probability (less than 20%) for a significant increase, while the likelihood of further downside is much higher. The baseline scenario anticipates continued sideways trading between support around $40.25 and resistance near $43.25. A bullish scenario would require a breakout above $43.25, targeting higher resistance toward MA-200 and the yearly midpoint. Conversely, a bearish outcome would be confirmed if the price slips below $40.25, exposing BIPC to further tests of support toward the low $39 area.

Earlier, analysts noted that Brookfield Infrastructure was experiencing sustained downside pressure with a prevailing negative technical outlook. In light of the current analysis, the focus now shifts to whether recent developments will reinforce this bearish scenario or potentially mark an inflection point, with traders advised to closely monitor for any decisive move beyond key technical levels.
