Agenus has announced an oversubscribed private placement of up to 340 million dollars intended to finance the advancement of its planned Phase 3 clinical trial, ROBBIN, for neoadjuvant BOT plus BAL therapy in high-risk Stage II and III MSS colon cancer.
The company scheduled a webcast for 8:30 a.m. ET to provide additional details on the fundraising and its strategy for the upcoming trial. Agenus aims to accelerate the development of critical therapies targeting colon cancer with this new funding round.
Agenus recently reported 33 percent three-year overall survival with BOT plus BAL in refractory MSS metastatic colorectal cancer. The company has also collaborated with the Armenian Bioinformatics Institute to identify immune patterns in MSS colorectal cancer using transcriptomics. These developments form the basis for Agenus’s planned Phase 3 trial in high-risk colon cancer.
