CVRx unveils Barostim for heart failure

CVRx is introducing Barostim, a therapy aimed at targeting the underlying physiology of heart failure to improve how patients feel and function.

Philip Adamson, MD, MSc, FACC, FESC, FRCP (Ed), Chief Medical Officer at CVRx, explained that Barostim is engineered to modulate the body’s natural response mechanisms tied to heart failure. This innovative approach seeks to address core issues rather than symptoms alone, offering potential new options for affected individuals.

CVRx recently worked with Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital to deliver its first Barostim implant in efforts to expand options for heart failure therapy. Chief Medical Officer Philip Adamson has previously discussed the evolution of heart failure care treatments during a medical podcast appearance. These initiatives add context to the company’s ongoing focus on addressing heart failure with new approaches.
