Nano Nuclear Energy has appointed Jennifer Charlton, Ph.D., a former leader at the Y-12 National Security Complex, as vice president of fuel technology to support its strategy towards vertical integration.

Charlton brings extensive experience in the nuclear fuel cycle and leadership roles from her tenure at Y-12. The company aims to leverage her expertise as it advances its operational and vertical integration goals.

Earlier this year, Nano Nuclear Energy partnered with the University of Illinois to build a full-scale KRONOS Micro Modular Reactor prototype. The company also signed an MOU with Enveniam to jointly develop U.S. microreactor deployment and nuclear infrastructure. These collaborations form part of Nano Nuclear’s efforts to grow its capabilities in reactor technology and fuel cycle infrastructure.
