Ocugen begins Phase 3 for OCU410

Ocugen has announced that its investigational gene therapy, OCU410, is now in Phase 3 clinical trials for the treatment of geographic atrophy, an advanced form of dry age-related macular degeneration (dry AMD).

The company noted that dry AMD can progressively affect central vision. OCU410 is designed as a one-time gene therapy treatment option for patients with this condition.

Last year, Ocugen reached a licensing agreement worth up to $259 million with Roots Pharmaceutical for OCU400 in the MENA region, according to company disclosures. The company also initiated a commercial expanded access program for OCU400 in the Bahamas to serve patients with retinitis pigmentosa, as outlined in previous statements. Ocugen continues to advance gene therapies across multiple indications.
