Ethereum holds firm despite institutional selling

Ethereum is showing greater resilience than Bitcoin and continues to trade above its yearly low. However, the market remains heavily dependent on institutional demand, while recent support for ETH has come primarily from isolated corporate purchases.

Following the latest wave of selling, the cryptocurrency market — and Ethereum in particular — staged a partial recovery as geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran eased. However, investors remain cautious, as capital continues to rotate into traditional financial assets and AI-related stocks, limiting the upside potential for digital assets.

According to SoSoValue, net outflows from spot Ethereum ETFs have exceeded $273 million, reinforcing the view that institutional capital continues to leave the market.

Ethereum holds $1,500, but risks remain

As mentioned earlier, the key $1,500 support level held thanks in part to buying by SharpLink Gaming.

In the short term, ETH could rebound toward the medium-term descending trendline and the resistance zone around $1,650.

However, another test of the $1,500 support level remains likely. If this level is broken, the price could accelerate toward the $1,400–1,388 support zone.

Ethereum's technical picture remains weak, and the lack of fresh capital inflows continues to weigh on price action.

Recovery requires more than corporate buying

SharpLink's purchases provided an important positive signal for the market, but one company alone is not enough to reverse the long-term trend.

A sustainable recovery in Ethereum will require broad-based institutional inflows rather than isolated corporate acquisitions. At this stage, there are still no signs of a medium-term trend reversal.

Ethereum remains in a downtrend. To confirm a transition into an accumulation phase, the market will likely need several months of sideways trading accompanied by gradually increasing trading volumes.
