Cardano struggles near $0.43 as sellers maintain control despite signs of early stabilization
Cardano holds near $0.43 as sellers maintain control despite oversold relief signs.

Cardano traded near $0.43 on Friday, attempting to stabilize after a month-long decline that pushed the asset into its deepest oversold conditions of the year. The rebound from the $0.41–$0.43 demand zone has slowed the selloff, but the broader structure remains firmly bearish.

Highlights

- Cardano holds near $0.43 as oversold conditions spark a tentative rebound from key demand support.

- Spot flows remain negative with –$3.41M, limiting recovery efforts and reinforcing bearish sentiment.

- A break above $0.47 and $0.50 is required to shift structure before ADA can target the $0.56 zone.

ADA continues to operate inside a clean sequence of lower highs, persistent distribution in spot flows, and a trend that has not allowed a decisive recovery since August. Buyers are probing for a base, yet the technical backdrop shows sellers still in control.

Persistent downtrend keeps ADA capped below all major EMAs

The daily chart signals a market still dominated by a well-defined downtrend. A descending trendline from the late-July peak continues to act as the ceiling for every bounce, with ADA failing to break through it for nearly four months. The 20 EMA at $0.47, 50 EMA at $0.56, 100 EMA at $0.64, and 200 EMA at $0.68 all slope sharply lower. This alignment — a bearish EMA stack — reflects a fully entrenched downtrend, where each attempt to recover fades well before touching the 20 EMA.

The $0.41–$0.44 demand zone has again attracted dip buyers, the same region that fueled rallies in December and March. But the structure surrounding this retest is more fragile. The RSI sits near 33, bouncing from oversold territory, and has printed a mild bullish divergence: price making lower lows while momentum begins to turn higher. This signals seller fatigue but does not yet confirm a trend reversal.

Spot flows underline the pressure. Coinglass data shows another –$3.41M outflow, adding to a months-long trend of consistent distribution. The absence of meaningful inflows since early summer has limited ADA’s ability to sustain rebounds, and each rally has quickly unraveled as liquidity left the market. Without a shift to positive flows, Cardano remains vulnerable even at historically strong support.

Derivatives positioning turns mixed as traders trim risk and ratios lean bullish

Derivatives markets paint a more balanced picture. Open interest sits near $735M, slightly lower on the day as traders unwind exposure. Perpetual futures volume has declined nearly 18 percent, and options activity has collapsed — a sign that speculative appetite has dried up alongside the downtrend.

Long/short ratios, however, lean modestly bullish. Binance accounts show 2.33, and OKX sits at 2.46, suggesting retail traders are willing to position against the trend. Historically, elevated ratios at key support can precede local bottoms, but they can also reflect early bottom-calling too soon. Liquidation data supports the shift in behavior: while longs absorbed most pain during November’s drawdown, the last 24 hours recorded $400k+ in short liquidations, hinting at early squeeze attempts as price attempts to stabilize. This mix leaves ADA at a critical technical pivot.

If the bounce gains momentum, reclaiming the $0.47 20 EMA becomes the first meaningful signal of recovery. A push above $0.50 would break the current consolidation roof and open the path toward the 50 EMA at $0.56, aligning with the underside of the broader distribution zone.

Failure to build on current support, however, exposes deeper risk. Losing $0.41 would break the demand base and open a slide toward $0.36, a structural support from the early-year chart that previously marked the bottom of a major accumulation phase.

ADA attempts a base, but broader trend still favors sellers

Cardano is probing for stability, but the weight of the downtrend remains heavy. The asset will need sustained inflows, a reclaim of the 20 and 50 EMAs, and a clean break of the descending trendline before a true trend reversal can form. Until then, the bounce remains corrective, the risk remains elevated, and ADA continues to operate from a position of structural weakness.

In earlier coverage, we highlighted that ADA’s trend had shifted into a sustained bearish structure, with the descending trendline and negative flows acting as primary headwinds. The current price action reinforces those themes, with oversold conditions creating only short-term opportunities rather than a confirmed shift in trend.
