Robinhood and Sony invest $45M to expand Talos crypto infrastructure
Investments of $45 million from Robinhood and Sony into the expansion of Talos’ crypto infrastructure have increased the platform’s valuation to $1.5 billion.
Growing demand for sophisticated crypto trading infrastructure among professional market participants enabled the Talos team to complete an extended Series B funding round, raising $45 million from new strategic partners led by Robinhood and Sony.
As a result, total capital raised in the Series B round reached $150 million, while the overall valuation of Talos Inc. climbed to $1.5 billion.
Sustained demand for institutional solutions
Talos, an institutional platform for trading, managing, and analyzing digital assets, provides:
- access to digital asset trading, including via APIs
- order and liquidity routing
- risk management and trade execution tools
- portfolio management, post-trade analytics, and reporting
- connectivity to exchanges, OTC desks, brokers, and custodial solutions through a single interface
In 2022, during its Series A and Series B funding rounds, Talos raised a total of $145 million from investors including a16z Crypto, PayPal Ventures, Fidelity Investments, Citi, Wells Fargo, and others, underscoring strong demand for institutional-grade trading solutions.
According to Kazuhito Hadano, CEO of Sony Ventures, Talos has evolved from a trade execution platform into a comprehensive institutional solution that integrates data and analytics.
