As reported by London Stock Exchange, citing the Regulatory News Service, Vesuvius issues a trading update tied to its first-half performance and outlook for 2026.The company says the disruption in its Steel division has continued since its previous trading update on 28 May 2026. It adds that these operational issues remain temporary, but are having a greater effect than it had previously anticipated.
Vesuvius says the issues are being addressed and are expected to be resolved by the end of the year. For the first half of 2026, trading profit is expected to be about £74 million.
Pressure in Europe and implications for the year
Alongside the Steel division problems, Vesuvius says Advanced Refractories is operating in a challenging trading environment, with Europe identified as a particular area of weakness.As a result, the group now expects full-year trading profit to be slightly ahead of FY25 on a constant currency basis. Vesuvius says it will announce its 2026 half-year results at 7 a.m. on Thursday 30 July 2026, as previously planned.
