GDP growth is now forecast at just 1.1 percent this year, reflecting a subdued economic outlook.
Paul Johnson noted that while projections show higher growth in later years, current levels remain underwhelming. He also highlighted that the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) expects GDP per head to rise by 5.6 percent over this parliament, translating to about 1 percent a year—an improvement over the last parliament, but still not strong.
