Andrew Lokenauth: U.S. foreclosure filings reach highest level in six years
Foreclosures reach six-year high in U.S.

Andrew Lokenauth, industry influencer, reports that U.S. foreclosure filings have jumped to their highest level in six years, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Foreclosure rates have increased 26 percent year over year, with Florida and Texas seeing the most significant rises. Lokenauth attributes these trends to increasing property taxes, higher insurance costs, and mounting debt pressures facing U.S. homeowners.

Lokenauth has highlighted other areas of financial pressure in recent coverage. He previously noted that U.S. producer price index (PPI) inflation has reached 4 percent, the highest since February 2023. In a separate post, he observed that some high earners continue to live paycheck to paycheck despite incomes exceeding $500,000.
