Chamath Palihapitiya, founder and CEO at Social Capital, expressed enthusiasm for the use of 8090’s Software Factory to unbundle incumbent independent software vendors. Palihapitiya indicated that $5 billion has already been deprecated, with a much larger $5 trillion opportunity remaining in the sector.

He also thanked another industry participant for sharing insights about these developments.

Palihapitiya has previously questioned whether companies like Amazon are accurately reporting their true run-rate revenue after adjustments at frontier labs, according to a prior statement. He also recently noted that SpaceX has already generated returns exceeding its acquisition cost, calling the deal highly profitable in an earlier comment. These remarks add to his track record of scrutinizing revenue models and investment outcomes in the tech sector.
