Meta-backed data center gains tax break

Lance Lambert highlights that D.R. Horton was required to pay sales taxes on materials it used to build its site.

In contrast, Lambert points out that a data center backed by Meta will be exempt from paying sales taxes on construction materials for 40 years per an Ohio deal involving Meta, Google, and Amazon.

Lambert has previously tracked other developments in the U.S. housing sector. He reported that Berkshire Hathaway is set to acquire Taylor Morrison, a leading homebuilder, for $8.5 billion. In a separate update, he noted that single-family home prices in the Seattle metro fell 2.2 percent year-over-year based on Freddie Mac data.
