Easier LN node operation is critical for self-reliance, Alex Bosworth notes
Decentralized LN needs easy node use

Alex Bosworth, head of infrastructure at Lightning Labs, observes that as low-trust shared UTXOs grow, making the Lightning Network (LN) more decentralized and robust, it becomes increasingly important for running a regular LN node to be easy and effective.

Bosworth questions the incentive to operate a node if non-custodial and easy alternatives are available, arguing that self-reliance is essential.

Bosworth has previously highlighted the resilience of bitcoin when maintaining price floors is prioritized. He has also discussed the potential risks to bitcoin from possible cryptography bans. These earlier comments reflect his ongoing examination of both technical and regulatory factors shaping the network’s future.
